To register for Facebook, you have to provide a full birth date, consisting of a birth year. Although you need to offer the day for Facebook managers, you do not have to share your birth year with the world. Use your profile's editing and enhancing menu to remove your birth year from your profile. The changes work promptly, and also pals are not alerted when you alter whether your birthday shows.

1. Click your name and thumbnail in the top right edge of any Facebook display to be routed to your account.

2. Click the light gray "Edit Account" button at the top of your account page.

3. Most likely to the "Standard Details" tab on the left side of the "Edit Profile" web page.

4. Scroll to the "Birthday celebration" area of the menu. Click on the arrow just underneath your birthday to reveal a menu for your birthday's display options.

5. Select "Program just month & day in my account" if you still want to present your birthday but don't want profile visitors to see your birth year. Select "Do not reveal my birthday celebration in my account" to remove your birthday celebration from your account.

6. Click the blue "Save Adjustments" button at the bottom of the screen.
